This project aimed to promote The North Face Steep Series on an attractive and engaging microsite. Getting to know the Steep Team and seeing their excursions will garner interest in The North Face brand, as well as seeing The North Face apparel protect the team as they trek up and slide down the world's highest peaks.

APPROACH

An early idea was to create a site that allowed people to post their stories and videos of their trips to The Northface branded site. Sponsored and non-sponsored enthusiasts were urged to post and comment on the site. And finding the most interesting stories The Nortface would publish a book so more people could experience these stories. These stories would help users engage with the brand while inspiring more people to utilize The Nortface products for their next trips.

Old Execution

As technology evolved, we thought it would be better to showcase the sponsored enthusiasts and offer: team bios, produced films, team members wearing The Nortface apparel with callouts, and a coming soon trailer for the next film. This would help add a cinematic touch to the brand and would engage users.

CONCLUSION

This project has evolved and I had a great time executing it. When it came to studying the Steep Team, the products, and how both work in tandem, we garnered interest for The Northface brand. They sold more of the premium inventory. Users get to see how the products work under hard conditions which is how we believe users view quality.
